A gangly, brown-haired young man and a sturdy, purple unicorn sat in a peaceful, sunny meadow. John held the horse’s tough horn in one hand, admiring the perfect spirals. The other hand carefully plucked stray white hairs that had a habit of getting stuck in the horses eyelashes and muzzle. Finished, he petted the beast’s velvet nose and it smiled.
"Did you have the dream again last night?" asked the unicorn. Her voice was gentle, almost musical.
John hesitated, then said, "Well, it was different this time. A lot longer, and less dreamlike. I’d have a hard time telling why it wasn’t a dream, other than being awake now. I was in the same little room though, with the bed and the little window on the door."
"Did you see the lady again, with the eyes?"
"Yeah, a black lady with blue eyes! Isn’t that something? She’s real friendly though, I wish I could say something to her but I can never come up with the words. She’s just a dream person though, so I guess it doesn’t really matter."
"Is that her standing behind you right now?"
John looked over his shoulder and with a fright saw the very same lady. He pulled back into the corner of the room, onto the bed. He focused on his chewed, bleeding fingernails and tried to ignore her. The meadow was gone, the clinical blue walls of the room were painfully closed in. The unicorn had been reduced to a mere whisper in his ears, reassuring him with nothing more than ‘it’s ok John’ over and over.
"No one is here but me John. There’s nothing to be afraid of." Her voice was deep and calm; her cobalt eyes twinkled in the cheap fluorescent light. "Who were you talking to?"
"The unicorn," John replied, his voice shaky.
"There is no unicorn John. That was just a hallucination."
John lowered his eyebrows and grimaced. His eyes widened in horror. "How do I know you’re real?"

as a writer, I can give a few constructive criticisms

I think that your plot may be a little underdeveloped, I hardly knew what was going on whilst reading it.
The cliffhanger was a nice touch.
Your writing seems a bit generic, I felt myself skipping over some parts.

overall though is my deck ok?

This one of the better decks that i have seen in my 7 years of this game. i would add some more support cards such as Mystic Wok or Numinous Healer. But all in all this is a winning deck.

I play using non official rules meaning I don’t care if I have banned cards. I think my deck is pretty strong right now but here is my 40 card deck.

the trap jammer is just in case when you attack with golden homunculus

D.D trap hole kills your monster too.so replace it with nobleman

EVERY deck has monster reborn(one of the best cards in game)

You dont need just desserts if your going to attack your oppenent’s monsters

kay so i have liek 2 cattegories of friends. my friends from the barn, and my friends from school. so my friends charlie and sydney from the barn were with me at this football game along with my friends Mal and lillie from school. we were all talking and having fun despite the fact they didnt know each other. then all of a sudden charlie says ‘the lady who wants to know the sport you play is by the hamburgers’ so we all go over there and give her our sports. then sydney, who is liek obsessed with this kid drummond from school goes over and talks to him like theyre best friends. i hear drummond tell her he thinks ‘hummers are bad for chocolate’ which is odd because sydneys horses name is hummer. then i see mal and lillie flying over us with dressage olympian lendon grey and they all look so happy. then the guy i like chris is there and he liek asks me out, then charlie gets liek all protective and tells him he cant go out with me (reminds me of edward from twilight, he was like growling) then chris asks sydney out then they like go on the carousel while drummond is eating a hot dog with lendon grey. then i ask charlie why he did that and he tells me chris is a unicorn.

then i woke up

looks great 9/10, maybe add mirror force and astral barrier to go with spirit barrier. spirit barrier makes all damage zero but doesnt protect your monsters, astral barrier makes your opponent have to attack u directly (its a continuous trap to !) so its the perfect strategie.
